Job Description:

Manage the technical team tasked with executing Perway components replacement and rehabilitation of track. Engage in long term maintenance development of Perway components and systems in respect of assets, equipment, personnel strength and capabilities as required in terms of Long Term Strategic Planning. Establish and manage good labour relations

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan Technical/Functional training.
• Mentor all Engineering and Technical staff as required Track engineering management
• Engaging with Perway Regional Engineers regarding Perway material and service demand, Perway asset condition, condition assessment and maintenance engineering.
• Plans, design and executes all national Perway/track projects maintenance activities in collaboration with regional Perway teams.
• Manage subordinates by handling personnel problems, applying discipline and taking necessary action where required. Periodically check time sheets and log sheets to ensure tasks are being executed.
• Ensure that disciplinary procedures are complied with.
• Ensure capacitation of technical teams to achieve global best practise in track maintenance.
• Lead and motivate subordinates in order to optimise productivity through the creation of an enabling work environment
• Manage an implement effective performance evaluation system to measure the outputs of subordinates and identify problem areas.
• Engage in strategic planning of personnel requirements, structures and training needs.

Job Requirements:

• BSc Eng (Civil) or BEng Civil or BTech Civil
• Physically fit
• Post graduate qualification in Engineering or Project
• Ten (10) Years Rail Experience
• Engineering
• Professional Technologist (or registrable within 12 or months)
• Driver’s License
• Grade 12
• Registered as a Professional Engineer
• Five (5 ) years at management level
