- Providing leadership as part of a UWC campus-wide e-Research initiative
- Leading data-intensive research programs in either Astroinformatics or Bioinformatics,
- Facilitating UWC engagement in the South African Data Intensive Research Cloud project
- Serving as the Facility Director of the Western Cape Data Intensive Research Facility
Job Requirements:
- Experience in management of projects related to data intensive research
- A Doctoral degree in a relevant domain science or related data intensive research or analytics field
- A valid NRF rating will be an advantage
- Relevant experience in Astroinformatics or bioinformatics
- Proven management skills and Ability to manage a team
- Experience in building technical solutions for a data intensive or multi-disciplinary research environments
